Almighty God, let me adore you    

1) Almighty God, let me adore you
for where is there a God like you alive?
My songs I gladly bring before you,
oh, may your Spirit help me now to give you praise,
through that One name by whom alone,
our songs may please you: Jesus Christ, your Son!

2) O Father, draw me to my Savior
that your dear Son may draw me unto you.
Your Spirit guide my whole behavior
and me with reason and good sense imbue.
That, Lord, your peace from me may ne’er depart,
but wake sweet melodies within my heart.

3) Grant that your Spirit prompt my praises,
then shall my singing surely please your ear;
sweet are the sounds my heart then raises
my prayer in truth and spirit you will hear.
Then shall your Spirit my voice duly raise
to sing loud psalms to you in joyful praise.

4) For he can plead for me with sighings
when feeble lips like mine no longer speak.
He bids me pray with earnest cryings,
and advocates for me when I am weak.
Joint heir with Christ, and thus may dare to say:
O heav'nly Father, hear me when I pray!

5) And what your Spirit thus has taught me
to seek from you must needs be such a pray'r
as you would grant, through him who sought me
and raised me up to be your child and heir.
In Jesus' name I boldly seek your face
and take from you, my Father, grace for grace.

6) When thus my heart in pray'r ascending,
through your own Holy Spirit high above,
your heart, O Father, kindly bending
its favor unto me in fervent love,
rejoicing my petition to fulfil
which I have made according to your will.
